SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM APPLICATIONS

Richard I. & Ethel A. Thrune Scholarship Application Eligibility: All graduating seniors at Brookwood and Cashton High Schools, and those from the Coon Valley area (must have attended Coon Valley Elementary School) served by Westby High School are eligible to apply. If there are no Westby High School students from the Coon Valley Elementary School, the scholarship will be open to any Westby High School student that meets the other criteria. But, first preference will be given to Coon Valley Elementary School students. Recipients are chosen on the basis of their academic performance and the leadership qualities they display while in high school. Emphasis is placed on the student's participation in extracurricular activities and their contributions to the improvement of school life in general. There will be no consideration given to the financial need and financial statements are not required of the student or their parents. Recipients of the Thrune Scholarships will receive their award in two equal installments payable in September and January.

Complete and sign this application and give it to your high school guidance director. The above information is correct and complete to the best of my knowledge. I understand, agree, and consent to the use by the selection committee of the information contained in and submitted with this application. I am aware that the Letters of Recommendation may be verified. I understand any award made is contingent upon my enrollment at UW-L as a full time student at the time the award is paid. I do meet all the criteria for the scholarship for which I am applying. Awards from this application are being made for the 2004-05 academic year payable in two equal installments. If an appropriate grade point average is maintained and meet the university's other requirements for advancement to the sophomore year, the scholarship program will automatically provide a second grant of $3,000 for that year.
