Presented as a memorial to one who devoted his life teaching
and working with young people. The grant is renewable for all
four years of the recipients undergraduate program, provided
all work is done at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and
that the recipient meets the institutions requirements
for advancement through the sophomore, junior and senior years
and recipient remains in the teachers education program. Selection
will be made by the Faculty Senate Scholarship & Awards
Committee.
Eligibility: All of the requirements of the application
form must be met for any candidate to be considered.
1. Applicant must intend to seek a career in teaching.
2. Applicant must rank in the top 25% of his/her high school
graduating class.
3. Applicant must have a composite score of 24 or higher on
the ACT.
4. Applicant must submit one letter of recommendation from a
high school teacher who should return it directly to the UW-L
Foundation Office.
5. Applicant must enroll full time at UW-La Crosse for all years
of this award.
6. Applicant must submit a brief statement (no more than 100
words) of career goals, e.g., what he/she hopes to accomplish
in life through their teaching career.
